Also, the file's metadata shows 30 fps. So, it seems that the 720 frames get interpreted as 30 frames per second instead of 24, which ruins the timing. If I change the composition and export to 30 fps then the frame timing is correct. Why is the export "stuck" at 30 fps interpretation regardless of my setting configuration?

Now, I've tried every conceivable combination of settings in resolve, but as soon as i choose 30fps .mp4 output (of any kind, bitrate or rendering speed (which I thought would solve it), it just saiys "failed to encode the video frame": I've read all kinds of threads on this, all stating that it's either a Mac, PC or Resource issue. I can film in 24fps but I want more flexibility with 30fps. But if I want to convert to 24fps is it easy to change it to 24fps in Elements? In the save (export) and share part can I just choose a 1080p24 file format and it will convert it and look as good as if I shot it in 24fps?

I see that most people say to avoid putting 24fps files into 30fps or 60fps project timelines because that 24fps file will add interpolated frames.

2012-10-13 · Yes, it was purchased in New Zealand. This was after I read reviews that it did 30fps - I only subsequently found out that the frame rate is different for different regions - 25fps for PAL regions, 30fps for NTSC. It would be great if I could have imported an NEX-F3 from the US just to get te 30fps frame rate.

What you need to approximate a film look is 1/48th exposure time per frame, you need to add enough motionblur to compensate. For example if you shot at 120th sec at 60fps you would need to add the equivalent motionblur per frame of 1/48th exposure time to the interpolated 24fps. Conform your 29.97 to 23.98 in cinema tools. It will equip you with the knowledge to identify the best way to troubleshoot frame rate-related issues for your project. If the original footage is recorded with a project frame rate of 24 fps and an off-speed rate of 60 fps, just dropping that onto a 24 fps timeline gives you slow motion. If the project frame rate is 60 fps, then you need to set the Media to 24 fps before adding to the timeline as John mentioned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And because I needed the 30 FPS footage for potential slow down, but I want the look of 24FPS. Won't do it. Shooting at 24 and getting the shutter right will. Every thing else won't do it.

Drop the 30 FPS drone footage into your 24 FPS main sequence and just edit like normal, and then export at 24 FPS. Premiere will handle the conversion itself. If, in the export, you find that the drone shots are unacceptably choppy, then you could look at doing a 30 FPS to 24 FPS conversion beforehand, but it really shouldn't be that bad.

The process of converting a low frame rate video to a higher frame rate video is called frame interpolation. I did a test using the main piece of material from which the show is cut and if I import that clip into a 30fps project I can indeed export a clean file without interlace artifacts. How can I move this project out of its 24 fps project into a 30 fps project?
